Storage Boxes with Files and Documents

SERVPRO has the equipment to save documents from either Fire or Water Damages.

Most homeowners and business store documents in closets, attics or where there is storage availability in their home or office.  Fire and Water damages can destroy these very fast but SERVPRO has the means to restore most documents with a Vacuum freeze drying.

Vacuum freeze drying is the only method that is approved by NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) and the GSA (General Services Administration).

Process:

  • Inventory: All documents will be inventoried from the franchise office.
  • Packaging: Documents will then be packaged/boxed accordingly.
  • Cold Storage:  Documents will be frozen to prevent further damage.
  • Shipping:  Documents will be shipped to the SERVPRO corporate office for freeze dring.
  • Receipt:  Upon receipt of documents they will be placed either in cold storage until ready to be processed through the Vacuum Freeze Drying Chamber or processed immediately.

SERVPRO Semi Containing Equipment Needed for Franchises to Use.

In the past two years, COVID-19 has changed the way that we live our lives.  SERVPRO immediately began to verify CDC guidelines for cleaning procedures and what SERVPRO brand chemicals we could use.

SERVPRO has cleaning products that are CDC approved to clean surfaces.  Our certified team was able to help get businesses open or stay open during this pandemic.

As SERVPRO is still helping with keeping up with COVID-19 cleanings we are also a Fire and Water Restoration company that has been busy from the Polar Vortex that came through February 2021.

The temperature in many states including Oklahoma and Texas were below freezing for more than 10 days.  As pipes began to unfreeze many businesses and homeowners saw pipes breaking and causing an abundance of water damages everywhere.

SERVPRO of Bartlesville/Miami are still getting calls from the cold temperatures in February. Please call the professionals for any emergency.

Keeping Our Kids Safe for A New School Year

8/3/2020 (Permalink)

Here are four things you can start doing now to set your students up for success, according to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Mission Healthy Kids.

  • Create a regular sleep schedule.

In the weeks leading up to a new school year, try moving up your child's bedtime by just a couple minutes a day. Remember children ages 6 to 11 should get between 10 and 11 hours of sleep each night, while teens should get at least nine.  Make sure your kid's room is dark, quiet, and comfortable.  Try to avoid strenuous activity and screen time for at least an hour before bed.

  • Get your kid's nutrition on track.

Cut the cereal and breakfast bars. Swap them instead for nutritionally-dense foods like eggs, fresh fruit, nut butters, whole grain breads, yogurt, and milk.  Those foods will fuel your child's body and help them feel full longer.   Now is also the time to make a list of some healthy lunch and snack ideas.

  • Sit down with your child and plan.

Talk in advance about grades, homework, reading time, and after-school activities. Discuss some of the positives a new school year can bring, such as seeing old friends and making new ones.  Develop a general schedule, too. With younger kids, you can even walk through what their daily routing might look like.

  • Stay safe during COVID-19 Pandemic

During trying times like this worldwide pandemic, your child's safety should be the top priority.  Everyday remind your child to socially distance and wear the proper facial coverings to ensure their safety.  Also, have them bring hand sanitizer to wash their hands throughout the school day to keep them from infecting themselves and others.

The bottom line: Try to remember what life was like in their shoes.  A new school year can be scary and cause anxiety.  Let them know those feelings are okay.  Plus, making sure they're getting enough sleep, eating well, and planning now may help your whole family ease that stress.

Mold happens

Water leak causes mold on ceiling

SERVPRO of Bartlesville/Miami is called often when water damage isn't taken care of in a timely manner. This home had a water leak from an upstairs bathroom.  When the leak became visible on the ceiling below the leak was repaired, but  by this time there was visible mold on the ceiling and it needed mold remediation.

SERVPRO Of Bartlesville/Miami is certified in Mold remediation.  They are also qualified to do an air quality testing for mold.

Microscopic mold spores naturally occur almost everywhere, both outdoors and indoors. This makes it impossible to remove all mold from a home or business.  Therefore, mold remediation reduces the mold spore count back to its natural or baseline level.  Consider the following mold facts:

  • Mold is present almost everywhere, indoors and outdoors.
  • Mold spores are microscopic and float along in the air and may enter your home through windows, doors, or HVAC systems. Mold spores can even hitch a ride indoors on your clothing or a pet.
  • Mold Spores thrive on moisture. Mold spores can quickly grow into colonies when exposed to water. These colonies may produce allergens and irritants.
  • Before mold remediation can begin, any sources of water or moisture must be addressed. Otherwise, the mold may return.
  • Mold often produces a string, musty odor and can lead you to possible mold problem areas.
  •  Even higher-than-normal indoor humidity can support mold growth. Keep indoor humidity level below 45 percent.

If your home or business has a mold problem, we can inspect and assess your property and use our specialized training, equipment, and expertise to remediate your mold.
